Hmm, turns out I was in Amsterdam for my year abroad. Maybe she got into danger and the family had to leave to help/save her? Nope. And then there was information about the mother leading a controlled burn in the forest. But no, they just thought you should know about the father's career situation for no real reason. And it made me think maybe we were caught up in some kind of Stephen King + JFK assassination mystery (JFK being the topic of your father's most recently published book). The bits about the father's writing career and current struggles were easily the best part story-wise for me. I was actually intrigued by some of the information I discovered, unfortunately none of it lead anywhere. Your little sister met a girl who she likes who is leaving for boot camp or military school or something. Your mom, a forest ranger (no, it's not relevant), is trying to address marriage troubles while trying to raise a teenage girl (your little sister) who is having trouble at school. Your dad, a writer, is struggling at work. You will basically discover three types of information. You occasionally trigger a voiceover from your little sister reading her journal which gives you some info about what is going on in her life which connects with the most lame revelation in the universe at the end. There are no puzzles to solve except maybe one or two locked doors, a single hidden passage, and a locked file cabinet which contains nothing of importance. Spoilers Your parents are on a couples retreat and your sister took off to meet up with her girlfriend. Your job is to figure out what happened to her and your parents. You find the house empty with a mysterious note from your little sister taped to the front door. You, a college age girl comes home after a year abroad. And somehow this game seriously under delivered. I was expecting nothing more than a walking simulator with a short and mysterious story to unravel.
